About Facade Files
A small editorial project about one procedure, run like a drawing office: sourced figures, dated sheets, published refusals.
What this site is
Facade Files covers veneers and the removable appliances sold alongside them — porcelain, composite, so-called no-prep systems, and snap-on covers. One lane, drawn carefully, instead of a portal that covers all of dentistry an inch deep. The centre of the set is the cost guide; around it sit files on materials, preparation, lifespan and who pays.
Who writes it — and who doesn't
These pages are researched and written by the Facade Files editorial team. No dentist writes here, and no dentist has reviewed any page — we say that on every sheet rather than burying it, because 'reviewed by a professional' is a claim you should get to check, not assume. What we publish is documentation: what named sources printed, on what date, about money, materials and process. What we cannot publish is judgement about your teeth. That takes an examination, a licence, and a person — a dentist, in a room with you.
The method, in four habits
First: every fragile fact — a price, a lifespan figure, a rule about coverage — carries the date we read it and the source that printed it, and lives in a fact ledger we keep against every page. Second: what we could not verify at the source is left out entirely; a hedge like 'around' or 'typically' still plants a number in your head, so we don't print soft versions of unverified figures. Third: no fabricated experience — no testimonials, no 'we tested', no patient stories, no photographs of anyone's mouth. Fourth: when copy and a chart could drift apart, we make the chart fail our build rather than let the page disagree with itself.
What we refuse
We take no money from snap-on veneer brands despite open programmes, never link a clinic anywhere in the world, and never link the collapsed mail-order aligner companies. The disclosure page names every partner that does pay us and every refusal, and explains the rule that a discount plan is not insurance. If a page here ever contradicts that list, the list wins and the page is wrong — tell us.
